Habitual was born from a simple frustration: most habit apps are built for lone wolves. We built one for the pack.
In 2022, our founder Leila Hassan was struggling to maintain a consistent morning routine. She'd tried every app, every journal, every productivity system. Nothing stuck — until she started a WhatsApp group with six friends and committed to a 21-day morning run challenge together.
By Day 21, five of the six had completed the challenge. More importantly, all of them continued running after it ended. The group accountability had changed something fundamental. Leila left her product management role at a tech company and spent the next year building what would become Habitual.
Today, Habitual hosts over 38 live challenges and has helped more than 12,000 people in 60+ countries build lasting habits — together.
To make positive habit formation accessible, social, and sustainable for every person on earth — regardless of where they live, what they earn, or how many times they've tried before.
Habits forged in a community outlast those built in isolation. Every feature we build asks: does this bring people closer?
We build on peer-reviewed research and honest measurement. If a feature doesn't move the needle for members, it goes.
Our challenges are designed to be accessible to people of all fitness levels, languages, time zones, and economic backgrounds.
